What is Pelleve?
Pelleve uses radio frequency technology to deliver non-surgical skin tightening treatments, to reduce the appearance of wrinkles. It is not a laser. The GlideSafeTM handpiece used is unique and fitted to the pelleve system to achieve firmer, tighter and rejuvenated looking skin.
It is pain free and can target various parts of the body that include:
- Loose skin above or below the eye
- Crow’s feet
- Lines or folds between the eyebrows
- Lines on the forehead
- Nasolabial folds
- Wrinkles around the mouth
By delivering constant, gradual radiofrequency energy deep into the skin, this causes heat to build up where the skin and fat layer meet without damaging the epidermis (top layer of your skin). The increasing heat modifies the collagen bundles deep in the skin, causing contraction and overtime stimulating the growth of new collagen.
What does the treatment involve?
A full face Pelleve treatment typically takes 60-75minutes to perform. The treatment is often described as a “hot stone massage facial” when the Pelleve handpiece touches the skin. Because Pelleve does not require any anaesthesia or downtime, it fits easily into a busy schedule.
What kind of Results can I Expect?
You will often see a difference in your skin almost immediately after the initial treatment- plumper skin and fine lines will be noticeably reduced. Over the next 4-6 week period, new collagen formed will also improve the overall look in the skin. Four to Six Treatment series is generally recommended at monthly interval for best results. Once we have allowed for the maximum collagen growth (i.e. after a series of 4-6 treatments/ depending on your skin goals), we generally recommend an additional “touch-up” Pelleve session every 6 months for maintenance.
