Chemical Skin Peel

What is a Chemical Skin Peel?

Chemical skin peels can improve the appearance of the skin on the face, hands and neck by reducing many of our skin imperfections. As a result of extrinsic/intrinsic factors i.e. sun exposure, clogged pores, acne and aging – these often can result in uneven skin tone and a dull complexion.

Good candidates for light chemical peels are patients who have relatively mild skin concerns- who want to enhance and brighten the appearance of their skin. When you’re considering facial peels it’s important to remember that there are many different types. At Beau Aesthetics, we offer light peels only – as they are excellent for freshening up your complexion and giving your skin that healthy glow with minimal downtime.

Types of Skin Peels

Here at Beau Aesthetics, we offer 2 types of Mild Skin Peel treatments (gentle – with minimal downtime):

Signature Peel (Facelift): Our signature enzymatic peels utilise a 30% blend of vitamin C, hyaluronic acid & fruit-based enzymes to gently dissolve dead skin cells, support skin cell renewal and soften skin texture. This is a perfect entry level peel for beginners for an instant hydrating glow – Perfect for all skin types!

  • Skin Types: Rosacea, Dry/Dehydrated, Smoker’s complexion, Post-surgery and Premature Aging

Pigment Balancing Peel : This enhanced peel combines brightening and anti-inflammatory agents with a peeling solution to target hyperpigmentation & improved photodamaged skin. This peel contains 40% glycolic acid, 10% citric acid, 27% vitamin C and 4% emblica. 4-6 treatments recommended, spaced out at monthly intervals.

  • Skin Types: Dull/Tired, Hyperpigmentation/Photodamaged skin

What does the treatment involve?

In preparation for a light chemical peel, the skin is first gently cleansed. Then the chemical solution is applied to the treated area. As the chemical solution works on the skin, the patient will typically feel a warm tingling/stinging sensation. After the chemical solution has been on the skin for the prescribed amount of time, the practitioner will wash it away with water and apply a calming lotion. The entire process will take approximately 40-45 minutes. After a light chemical peel, the patient can expect to return to daily activities immediately.

What Kind of Results can I Expect?

Generally, we recommend a series of 4-6 treatments of light chemical peel to achieve optimal results. Our Light Chemical Skin Peel is suitable for everyone because it has no to minimal downtime and can be used on all skin types. As well as rebuilding the health of your skin over time with regular treatments, immediately following your light chemical peel, you will notice that the treated skin has improved tone, texture, and pigmentation.
